Winter Wonderland

Snow

Southeast Minnesota is buried under another blanket of snow. It's so beautiful outside! And yet, I find myself paging through seed and flower catalogs and longing to go somewhere without my coat and gloves and boots.

What's the weather like where you are? Are you ready for spring?

  3. I love winter so much, but it just doesn't get cold where I currently live. I never get tired of snow. Maybe I should move to Antartica :-)

    1. You should come for a visit. We have enough snow for you to get good and tired of it. :D

  4. We had the third driest January and February on record here in the Sierra Foothills of California. March has been very dry as well. There's so little snow in the mountains that concerns about water needs in the summer are growing. The forecast is for sunny days in the 70s all week. I'd gladly take some of that snow off your hands at this point.

    1. Are they worried about fires this summer? CA seems such a state of extremes!

  5. How beautiful!!! This afternoon I spent my first hour of the season in our garden. It was only 9o celsius but the sun is out, my snowdrops and hellebores are blooming, and several shrubs are showing green buds. I don't fully trust that winter is done with us yet here on Canada's west coast, but I'm hopeful.

    1. You have flowers already? The only flowers I have here are fabric ones...and the cat is so desperate for spring, she's been gnawing on them!

  6. Is that your wrought iron gate?? It's gorgeous! Especially blanketed in snow : )

We were supposed to have a BLIZZARD along the Front Range of Colorado this past Saturday. School activities were canceled, the county strongly advised folks stay off the streets. We were ready...

I think I got maybe 2 inches of snow at our house. The wind blew a few times and then -pffft- nothing.

I'm enjoying your snow, Erica. Send some my way!!

    1. I wish that was my wrought iron gate! It's a picture I found on flikr/creative commons.

We've been been told the apocalypse snow storm story so often in our forecasts, we're actually shocked when it does snow for real. :)
