This week's Friday Five is from an idea my husband gave me. He suggested that once a month, I do a Friday Five on things I like about that month. :)

So, here are Five Things I Like About March:

1. It's my birthday month. :D

2. Spring comes. By the first of March, I'm longing for warmer weather and green growing things.

3. March Madness. The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. I chose my teams, and I'm usually wrong, but I love watching the games and rooting for my picks.

4. Daffodils. These are some of my favorite flowers, and they start showing up in stores around here, and eventually in gardens in late March.

5. Going out without my coat. And gloves. And an ice scraper. And boots (though I love my zippety boots I got this winter.)

How about you, what do you like about the month of March?

  1. I love being able to open the windows in the house!

  2. As of today 3/25, I like the fact March is pretty much over! 36 more days til 5/1 and hopefully warmer, drier weather. Oh, and basketball will be over so my favorite show won't be in reruns forever or pre-empted.

  3. Must admit it's not my fav. month but now that I know your b-day is in March...that changes EVERYTHING.

I like that you were born in March. :D

  4. But it's still so cold!!!!

I'm hoping April brings warm weather!

  5. Yay for your birthday! I hope you had a great one. I love that spring is finally in the air and I can hear the birds chirp.

  6. I'm with you on the March Madness, Erica. Right about the last week of March I feel like singing "It's the most wonderful tiiiiiime of the year" because of the Final Four and baseball's opening day.

How are your brackets? I think my husband and I are pretty much done--which means my nine year old daughter has a fifty percent chance of winning 3 years in a row.

    Who would have predicted that???

  7. Oh,boy, I'd like to say the arrival of SPRING but since we just had a big snow storm, sadly I'm not feeling the onset of spring.
Happy Birthday to you! What day is it?

  8. I like knowing spring is coming soon. I like seeing the first robin. I like putting away my winter coat even if it's still cold enough to wear it. I like watching the patches of grass get bigger as the patches of snow get smaller. And I like the more sunlight we are getting each day.

  9. Definitely the warmer weather! And Spring Break :)

  10. I like that spring's just around the corner. The birds return. The days grow longer. I'm SO tired of winter!!

  11. Julie! Open's been so long, I'd forgotten.'s too cold here today to think about spring either. :(

Wendy--:D I've always liked my March birthday too. I share the day with Big Bird and Mr. Rogers and Mary Connealy. Isn't that excellent company?

  12. Katie, I'm with you. I coul duse a heatwave or two to blow through here.

Tana, I had a great birthday! Thank you! And Yay for birdie music!

Sally, my brackets are shredded, but as long as KU wins it all, I'm good. That and Duke's loss last night...sweet!

  13. Eileen, we got hit with snow again too. My eyes are longing to see green growing things again! Oh, and my birthday was on the 20th.

Linda, I put away my winter coat too! And I'm freezing! LOL

Jill, I'm making a resolution to savor each day of spring, summer and fall! Winter, it's time to go!

  14. Cindy! Spring break! I think I'm so antsy for spring to get here already because my daughter's spring break from college was so early.

  15. Oh I love the trees budding out and daffodils sprouting up. I like March Madness, though I'm a little jealous of my husband and his brothers getting to go to the Final Four in another week!!!

    Oh...and definitely Spring Break!

  16. We had sleet today and are expecting 1-2 inches of snow tonight. Not impressed with this particular March, but Happy Birthday!! I definitely love the daffodils and March Madness! I'm a big Kentucky fan, so March Madness has been particularly fun so far this year.

  17. March is a wonderful month! It's the month we Minnesotans begin to have hope for warmer days, & hope is So important! I love hearing & seeing the robins again, looking forward to the tulips & daffodils I planted last fall, but best of all is celebrating Stacy's birthday the last day of March :) Oh, I was with you for Kansas taking it all, may the 2011 brackets rest in peace :(
