How Not To Get Your Book Published

How NOT to Get Published from CLASSEMINARS on Vimeo.

I'm thinking this would be a great video to show for all First Time Attendees at a Writer's Conference.

Anybody have a fun 'pitching' story to tell?

  1. Hysterical and scary at the same time.

Loved the background music w/ the grunts and when she's trying to get in her hotel room.

Humility and research go a long way in this business.

    Fun video.

  2. I watched this when you shared the link on Twitter and got a good laugh out of it. What a fun way to point out some valuable information.

  3. It would be funny if it weren't so close to the truth! I think one of the saddest things I've seen was at the last conference I was at. One of the volunteers (who isn't published) was reassuring people who were awaiting their pitch sessions, telling them in a louder than needed, listen-to-me-I-know-it-all voice what to do and not to do, how not to be nervous, what to say to the agents, etc., and much of it was bad advice. There were anxious novices hanging on her every word, too.I imagine she meant well, but it just shows how much bad advice there is out there for aspiring authors.

  4. OK. It's a little scary that this actually happens.

  5. Whoa hold your horses! God really did give me my manuscript! LOL! OK, so most likely not, but what a hoot! Thank you for sharing. I hadn't seen that before. The multitude of lesson's have been noted. ;)
